Going one styep further: tensions create INTEREST (in the outcome) and involvement (on which side would WE, that is I, choose to be?) In this case: where would I put my sympathy? With the stylish but obviously pampered girl in her expensive dress? Or with the poor people living their raw, difficult lives in these bare settings?
