I went around Manila with Dino to observe how people celebrated their LOVE DAY. Then Jesy met with us for lunch. Off to shoot Lennie’s nephew, Cade’s birthday party at CSB Hotel. Went home to change to go to Nats and Josh’s wedding reception at Century Seafood Restaurant.

Jesy had an appointment in the morning to do Nats’ sisters and mom’s makeup for the wedding. Then she met up with us for lunch. Went to Cade’s birthday party. Had a trial makeup appointment at her studio in UP Village. Went home to change to attend Nats and Josh’s wedding reception.

We really didn’t have the time to have our own date.

So I decided we’re going to Subic for some quality time. But the next day, she still had a meeting in Makati in the evening. So after that, we were off to Subic!

In the morning, we had breakfast and went Duty Free hopping. Can’t really take photos inside the shops. Then we had lunch at Meat Plus Cafe. It’s quite a popular resto in Subic. When we came in, there weren’t a lot of people yet, but after a while, the resto was full of people. The food is great and the price is even better.

I had their yummy Babyback Ribs Platter, and for dessert, we had their home made cheesecake. It was so rich and heavenly!

Then we went to the Tree Top Adventure, but unfortunately there were a lot of students on Educational Trip. Too bad we weren’t able to experience it yet. But we will surely be back for that. So we’re off to Ocean Adventure and checked out their aquariums.

Then we went to see the Dolphin Show. It was actually our first time to see one and it was awesome!

I actually hoped there would be a show like this at Manila Ocean Park, but the waters in Manila Bay would be fatal to the animals.

While waiting for the next show, we went to the gift shop.

The Sea Lion Show.

Jesy was the Lucky Guest of the day and she got a BIG SMELLY WET KISS on the cheeks from the sea lion.

After kissing Jesy, this is what I get from the Sea Lion.

I got Jesy a dolphin, and she named him Zac, after one of the high flying dolphins.

It was a great day! Haven’t had this kind of trip for quite a while and it was really refreshing. What an awesome way to spend our post-V-day date!

While walking around Luneta, I can’t help but smile seeing all the people celebrating V-day. Couples walking around hand in hand, hugging each other. Families having picnics, kids playing around. It’s the same feeling I get during weddings seeing how in love the couple is, their parents and families. Seeing all of them reminded me that on LOVE DAY, it’s not only about the love between man and woman, it’s about LOVE in all forms. Love of parents and kids, love of friends, and love of everything.

It was said that doves are used in weddings because when a dove finds its mate, they will stick with each other forever.

There was this blind singer and he was a hit! A lot of people were actually watching him and he was also plugging their blind massage.

Rides on Calesas around the park was also available. A family enjoying the ride passes through between the singer and the audience.

There was also this kind of off-beat “cari?o brutal” love between friends.

And some are waiting for love.

As it was love day, heart shaped balloons are on sale, talking roses and cartoon-character-shaped balloons for the kids.

I think the kid found his long lost lolo. They kinda look alike, eh? The glasses, the eyebrows, the nose, and the mustache!

And the love seat is still waiting for more lovers to enjoy some time alone.

It really was a different experience for me shooting my own brother’s wedding. There was this time that I was shooting Clara’s portraits and I had to run to Kuya Ervin’s room for our family portrait. And I was also a groomsman. So after walking down the aisle I had to run back out of the church to shoot Clara getting off the bridal car. Talk about multi-tasking!

Jesy did Clara’s makeup and Raymond did the hair. Special thanks to Cecilio Abad for Clara’s beautiful dress and Kuya Ervin’s suit and for accommodating them on such short notice and to Marcy and Cathy for dressing them up. To Jong, and the Wang Videography boys, Jigs, Jake & Gilbert, and Cristal for the video and SDE. Joel for shooting with me. To Jay for the help in booking the hotel and the escorts. I remember when Jason told me that he was proposing to Loi. He planned to do it in Boracay while on a paraw, but he didn’t push through with it coz he was afraid the ring might fell to the waters. The proposal happened while they were on a plane, and Jason popped the question.

I was yet again tasked to shoot the dress up and the portraits part of the wedding day. Here’s what I got from the day. Oh and another thing, this is another long post.

This might well be the best highlight for me of the wedding day. It was a gift from Jason to Loi.

Loi, being a bit of an OC, carefully untied the ribbon. It was a three layered gift.

The first one was the scrapbook Loi gifted Jason for their first anniversary together.

The second part was and album Jason prepared of the years they’ve been together since. It included photos, movie tickets and even receipts of the wedding preparations!

It was so sweet that even Loi’s dad was amazed with the gift.

That week was so full of fun memories! I’ve got four words to describe it, SURREAL, YET SO REAL…

The day finally came for Jong and Monique to finally tie the knot. Did I mention FINALLY? It was a day that was long awaited and not seen coming by some. And everyone was excited going to Boracay, the best beach in the world, to celebrate their wedding, and also Jason and Loi’s, who were married two days after them (photos to come soon).

Jong, has been more than a boss to me. He’s my mentor, a brother, a father and a friend. I cannot yet express the gratitude I have for everything he has done for me. And Monique, who have always been supportive. Always smiling and always hyper.

It was such an honor and privelege to shoot their wedding. Even if I only had to shoot the dress up and the portraits. You could only imagine the pressure, haha!!! Thank you for trusting us to shoot your wedding.

Let me share you some of my memories from the wedding. Memories I hope to keep in me for as long as my brain would allow.

Monique was so workin’ it, I just had to shoot away.

I was thinking of a shot wherein Monique would be in the middle of the road with all the tricycles passing by, and she was so up for it. Though I hesitated coz the trikes might catch her dress and Jong would kill me. Haha!

Right before the next photo, Monique was waiting for her turn to walk down the aisle. And as the song “I Can Only Imagine” volumed up, it suddenly hit me that this is really happening. Jong and Monique was really getting married. And all my memories with them came rushing through my brain. I was overwhelmed (Monique, you know what this means). I suddenly remembered when I first met Monique, and how she and Jesy bonded the first time they met as well. The memory of this time still overwhelms me whenever I think of it. I was looking away from Monique coz she was telling me, not yet. No not yet…

The wedding was at 3pm at the Makati City Hall and we’ll be coming from Ortigas. On our way to Makati via EDSA, it was raining so hard that the visibility was very low, and as expected, the traffic was really really bad. I would have taken a photo if I wasn’t driving and if we weren’t in a hurry. I was slithering our way thru the traffic with the car’s hazard lights blinking, taking every turn between cars and even driving on the bus lane just to get there faster. We were in two cars, the “bridal car” went ahead to the city hall and Jesy and I were on our way to Teddy Manuel‘s shop to pick up a bouquet we asked him to do. But the wedding was at 3pm and it’s already past 3 but we’re still on South Luzon Expressway. Getting to Teddy‘s shop and to the city hall would take about an hour more. The “bridal car” was already there and we decided to not go to Teddy anymore and went straight to the city hall.

On our way to the city hall, we got lost. Thanks to all the one way streets, we had to go around 3 times just to get to the entrance of the city hall’s gates. We finally got to the courtroom and it was almost 4pm. The judge had already started briefing the couple and stuff. When we got there, the real ceremony started.

It was a really intimate affair. Actually, the only one’s who would have been at the ceremony were the witnesses, one ninong and a ninang. But when we found out, we told Kuya Pau and Ate Mary that we should be there. And of course Jesy and I offered our services to make the day even a bit more special. Also Jesy’s brother, Adam and his wife, Ate Leah, was there.

The judge started the ceremony with a little prayer for the couple.

I hear vows exchanged a lot of times, but it really is different when the people giving them are people you know. When they were giving their vows, I suddenly felt surreal. I thought to myself, “wow, they are actually getting married…” and goosebumps followed that.

And of course, the kiss.

After the ceremony, fortunately, Murphy has left the building. It was like everything was just a test. When we got out of the city hall, it was no longer raining. Then we were on our way to Le Souffle at Manansala in Rockwell where we had dinner. I had ostrich steak, it was yum and funky! The meat fibers were thicker than beef and a small size would fill you up.

Finally! I get to post their wedding!!! Jom & Myrna’s wedding is one of our (Jesy and I) most awaited weddings ever! We had so much fun during our engagement shoot in Ilocos.

During their preps, everyone was laughing and joking around. I didn’t feel like I was working that day. As we put it, it was a riot! Then finally, when Myrna was about to walk down the aisle, it sank to us… they are really getting married and today is their wedding day. As Myrna emerged from the elevated room at the Glass Garden and as she walked down the stairs, tears fall from people’s eyes (including me). I looked back at Jom and he burried his face in his hanky and I was really moved by it. Then I looked back at Myrna and she was laughing. Ahahaha!!! What a sight! And their vows, probably the sweetest vows I’ve heard. It was so real and it really came from the bottom of their hearts. Tears seemed endless.

To Jom and Myrna, thank you for all the memories we’ve shared. And I’m looking forward to more! Coron!!! wink wink!!!

The day before the wedding was highlighted with a barbeque party at White House! They served the Boracay famous Longga-Burgers, hotdogs, smores, sodas, beer and, well, barbeques. Poeple were eating, chatting, playing volleyball, drinking and to top the night, Aaron and Steve did a pseudo wet shirt contest! It rained a bit when night fell so Aaron and Steve were dancing in the rain and it was hillarious!!!

Why Mango+Kalamansi??? They served Jonas fruit shakes while waiting for the ceremony to start. And it’s “M”ango+”K”alamansi flavored… Yum!!!

We were surprised to see Teddy Manuel and his brother Roland at the airport and we were on the same flight and transfers. They are responsible for the exquisite flowers and setup during the wedding.

When we got to Boracay, this was what welcomed us. (actually they’re not for us, we just saw them. the dancer looks so alive!!! sleepy actually. )

After settling down, we head right to the beach and found Ernest already enjoying the beach.

I can still remember when we had our engagement shoot last May (check out there engagement shoot here) . It was actually the first time I met them then. Vincent and Jessica actually was the first wedding that was booked under Imagine Nation Beyond. I remember Vincent telling me they were at this bridal fair and they were being bombarded by everyone with packages, and when Jessica was talking to one supplier beside our booth, Vincent wandered to our booth. He saw my folio book with the carousel shot of one of our couples and right there and then, I was sold. He said he liked how the style was so different from everything he during the bridal fair. Imagine, that carousel shot got them to me.

Her shoes looks really nice! Plus, they were really comfy according to Jessica, she can actually run with them.

I really like Vincent’s barong by Exclusively His (Candy Ocampo is his cousin)

We fed him with the same food that Doc Cris feeds her pugs, Science Diet, and even bought him vitamins. Well, there was no difficulty in feeding him coz pugs are naturally PG (patay gutom) and would eat anything they think is edible. So then he started gaining weight, fast. His heaviest was at 10kg, take note kilograms not pounds! There was even a point that when Doc Cris checked on the charts if Bubu was overweight, he was! But it was ok because Bubu has a tall built and he doesn’t even looked obese.

So we frequented the vet for Bubu’s shots and check ups, thanks to Doc Jenn who takes care of Bubu everytime we go there.

But this time it’s different, we get to attend as guests at Jon & Tere’s wedding. Jon is one third of the Threelogy and I was honored to be invited to their wedding.

The ceremony was in Santuario de San Antonio and the reception was at the Manila Hotel. Jon & Tere were radiant in Veluz and bouquet by Teddy Manuel.

It was our first time in Cebu. They have a rich culture and deep history. This is where the Spaniards came and “discovered” Philippines.

As we were on our way to our hotel, the driver of our cab offered us to tour us around the city. Sure!!!

This was at the Taoist Temple inside a subdivision called Beverly Hills.

Then after that, it was lunchtime!!! Kuya Ricardo, the driver of the cab, brought us to CnT Lechon. He said they serve the best Lechon in Cebu. When we got there, I was wondering, howcome there were only a few, and I mean a few people eating there. But after eating, when I turned around, the line was so long and the tables are full… Wow!

I was surprised to see that the people who are chopping the lechon were all women! Galing!!!

I am really not a big fan of Lechon, but when I tasted their lechon, it was the best! Yumm!!!

Then we were on our way to more tourist spots in Cebu!

On our way to Fort San Diego, we passed by a squatters’ area.

When we got there, while I was paying for our entrance, Jesy saw all those doves and pigeons, and went wild chasing them!!!

Then we cruised around Colon St. According to Kuya Ricardo, it was the first street built here in the Philippines.

Welcom to Lapu-Lapu City!!!

Right here was where the battle of Lapu-Lapu against Magellan happened. Cool huh?!

Just as we were leaving, I thought of buying a head band for my unruly hair. Then we came upon this guitar store. We actually bought one.

We bought this one —-^^^

Our last stop was Plantation Bay.

We went around and Jesy loved the place. So we decided to spend the next day there.

We went for a swim at their salt water pool then I was off to shoot Dave & Eisa’s engagement.

Next day, Jesy was to leave for Manila. We had a big buffet breakfast that morning.

I sure missed her when she left that day. This trip would be one of our many trips together. We had a blast! Thanks to all the people that made it more memorable. And special thanks to Jesy for coming with me on this trip!
