When we had our engagement shoot a few months before their wedding, we were treated to a buffet of sumptuous food courtesy of Mark’s family, specially his dad. Mark’s side loves to cook, and Tina’s family loves to eat! Talk about compatibility!

Their wedding was so relaxed and fun! During the preps, we were so hyped and kinda forgot that there’s a wedding happening later on. When they were already putting on the veil, Tina suddenly burst into tears. That was the time it sank to her that she’s already getting married.

V-day was hectic for Jesy and I. This was how our day went…

I went around Manila with Dino to observe how people celebrated their LOVE DAY. Then Jesy met with us for lunch. Off to shoot Lennie’s nephew, Cade’s birthday party at CSB Hotel. Went home to change to go to Nats and Josh’s wedding reception at Century Seafood Restaurant.

Jesy had an appointment in the morning to do Nats’ sisters and mom’s makeup for the wedding. Then she met up with us for lunch. Went to Cade’s birthday party. Had a trial makeup appointment at her studio in UP Village. Went home to change to attend Nats and Josh’s wedding reception.

We really didn’t have the time to have our own date.

So I decided we’re going to Subic for some quality time. But the next day, she still had a meeting in Makati in the evening. So after that, we were off to Subic!

In the morning, we had breakfast and went Duty Free hopping. Can’t really take photos inside the shops. Then we had lunch at Meat Plus Cafe. It’s quite a popular resto in Subic. When we came in, there weren’t a lot of people yet, but after a while, the resto was full of people. The food is great and the price is even better.

I had their yummy Babyback Ribs Platter, and for dessert, we had their home made cheesecake. It was so rich and heavenly!

Then we went to the Tree Top Adventure, but unfortunately there were a lot of students on Educational Trip. Too bad we weren’t able to experience it yet. But we will surely be back for that. So we’re off to Ocean Adventure and checked out their aquariums.

Then we went to see the Dolphin Show. It was actually our first time to see one and it was awesome!

I actually hoped there would be a show like this at Manila Ocean Park, but the waters in Manila Bay would be fatal to the animals.

While waiting for the next show, we went to the gift shop.

The Sea Lion Show.

Jesy was the Lucky Guest of the day and she got a BIG SMELLY WET KISS on the cheeks from the sea lion.

After kissing Jesy, this is what I get from the Sea Lion.

I got Jesy a dolphin, and she named him Zac, after one of the high flying dolphins.

It was a great day! Haven’t had this kind of trip for quite a while and it was really refreshing. What an awesome way to spend our post-V-day date!

LOVE DAY: Different Shades of Red

It was LOVE DAY and Dino and I decided to go on a little trip around Manila to become observers.

While walking around Luneta, I can’t help but smile seeing all the people celebrating V-day. Couples walking around hand in hand, hugging each other. Families having picnics, kids playing around. It’s the same feeling I get during weddings seeing how in love the couple is, their parents and families. Seeing all of them reminded me that on LOVE DAY, it’s not only about the love between man and woman, it’s about LOVE in all forms. Love of parents and kids, love of friends, and love of everything.

It was said that doves are used in weddings because when a dove finds its mate, they will stick with each other forever.

There was this blind singer and he was a hit! A lot of people were actually watching him and he was also plugging their blind massage.

Rides on Calesas around the park was also available. A family enjoying the ride passes through between the singer and the audience.

There was also this kind of off-beat “cari?o brutal” love between friends.

And some are waiting for love.

As it was love day, heart shaped balloons are on sale, talking roses and cartoon-character-shaped balloons for the kids.

I think the kid found his long lost lolo. They kinda look alike, eh? The glasses, the eyebrows, the nose, and the mustache!

And the love seat is still waiting for more lovers to enjoy some time alone.

ERVIN & CLARA family affair

Wedding number 1 in our family this year. My brother, Kuya Ervin and Clara have been together since high school, 11 years after, they finally tied the knot. It was a beautiful day for our families.

It really was a different experience for me shooting my own brother’s wedding. There was this time that I was shooting Clara’s portraits and I had to run to Kuya Ervin’s room for our family portrait. And I was also a groomsman. So after walking down the aisle I had to run back out of the church to shoot Clara getting off the bridal car. Talk about multi-tasking!

Jesy did Clara’s makeup and Raymond did the hair. Special thanks to Cecilio Abad for Clara’s beautiful dress and Kuya Ervin’s suit and for accommodating them on such short notice and to Marcy and Cathy for dressing them up. To Jong, and the Wang Videography boys, Jigs, Jake & Gilbert, and Cristal for the video and SDE. Joel for shooting with me. To Jay for the help in booking the hotel and the escorts. JON & RAQUEL chefs wed

Oh yes, it was a beautiful day.

Remember Jon and Raquel’s e-session, yeah, Jon is a hot chef and Raquel is a pastry chef. So during the preps at Discovery Suites, Raquel prepared some delish pastries, the rebel cake, yum! During the entire day, you could really feel and see that Jon and Raquel were really happy. Blissful would be the best term. Church was at Mary the Queen.

As we went to One Esplanade for the reception, Jon, being a chef himself, was checking how everything was going “backstage” at the food preparation area where Kaye Cunanan was preparing the banquet for the night.

Here’s some side story, Raquel did not fit her gown coz of the superstitions, so Veluz was super anxious if the gown would fit nice. And yes, it did fit perfectly! Veluz, wink wink! Haha! Raymond Fortun was also shooting during the day. Xeng and Angel did a great job making Raquel look her best while Eve & Co. transformed One Esplanade. Jody Liwanag and her able team made the day seem effortless. Shot for Imagine Nation with Noel Salazar and Wang Videography.

Oh, a little plugging, Jon will be working on some cooking show with San Miguel Food Corp. and is due to be released mid next year, so watch out for it.

Too fast? Too furious? Well this one is. Ian and Cha loves going to cinemas. Our first location was at Eastwood City where they usually go for their movie dates. And Ian here loves speed! He races at Batangas Racing Circuit once in a while. We were supposed to shoot with Cha’s brother’s Trueno, the car that is used in Initial D. So on our way to our second location, Ian gave us a feel of the speed. I knew we were going fast but I didn’t think we’d be going 140 kph on the highway! And yeah, Jesy and I enjoyed it!

I remember Cha’s story when they were still not a couple and were going out. They were in Ian’s car and they were going pretty fast, Cha’s right hand was already holding on to the door. Then suddenly a Porsche came passing too fast by them, and Cha, on a confused moment of her life, wanting to warn Ian that they were going too fast, accidentally slapped him on the face. Shocked on what happened, she placed her hands on her lap quietly, and Ian was thinking, what did he do wrong! Haha!

Had so much fun! Thanks Ian and Cha, for the taste of speed and a lot of food!

How time flies so fast. It was just like yesterday that Arlene introduced Gary to us, and now, they’re having a baby! It’s gonna be a boy and they’re naming the baby Miguel. Arlene is due to give birth this coming December. Congrats you guys!

Me and Hyds Valencia shot their maternity portraits at Arlene and Gary’s friend’s pad at Bonifacio Heights. Jesy of course did the fab makeup.

JACK & RUTH E-SESSION: De La Salle University – Enchanted Kingdom

Jack and Ruth have been a couple since they were in college. Jack was a quiet guy and Ruth was a studious girl. So we wanted to shoot them where it all began. Good thing they got permission from La Salle and we were able to shoot around the campus. Then we headed to Enchanted Kingdom where Jack proposed to Ruth. It was raining but they were all game to shoot. It was a easy breezy shoot and we all had fun!
