It was an early morning calltime for us at Sofitel for the 9am wedding of Clifford and Jewel at San Agustin Church. When we got there, Jigs Mayuga and Vianney Guese were already prepping up Jewel.

I forgot to mention during our engagement session, we shot at the La Maison furniture showroom. After shooting this incredible shot of Jewel lying down between a glass table, she got up and hit a very fragile chandelier. Well, all throughout the shoot, we would accidentally bump into it because it was kinda low, but it would just shake. Although when Jewel was on her way up, it was a different story. Two pieces of the chandelier fell off and shattered into pieces. Everyone froze in horror! Turns out the chandelier was made of pieces that was just hooked on each other. During dress up at Sofitel, Jewel candidly told me that the chandelier was already up at their new house. Let’s just say that THAT chandelier is not cheap.

Jewel looked stunning in her gown by Frederick Peralta. Husband and wife Pheoben and Gen Teocson with the team filmed the event. Angel’s Wink were the coordinators.

Oyie & Kay villa escudero wedding

This was my first wedding in Villa Escudero and the first time I went there, and I must say it is worth the travel. I love how the place is so into nature and very much Filipino. As guests you would be welcomed with a Sago-Gulaman drink and all the staff are wearing indigenous costumes to compliment the theme.

Going to the church, Oyie and Kay rode a Kalesa. And after the church, there was a parade with flags and lanterns and noise makers, with all the guests riding Carabao-carriages to the reception. Folk dancers graced the reception with a Pandanggo sa Ilaw dance that looked incredible with all the lights off.

Oyie and Kay looked amazing in Veluz , and all made up by Madge Lejano and Joel Estrelles. Wedding coordination by Love & Beth, Videography by Threelogy.

How many engagement pictorials should you have? Oyie and Kay have had 3! They’ve had an e-session with John Mateos Ong in Central Park, NY and from a friend, and now another one. They just seem to love photos, and having their photos taken!

It was a fun fun day! Jesy Alto did her makeup and Raymond Ko did her hair. Thanks to Feliz Diestro and Tiffany for the styling.

JJ & Denise st. francis of assisi, fernwood gardens

So JJ and Denise are now married. They’re from New York and most of their guests flew in to be part of the wedding. JJ and Denise were excited that most of them haven’t been to the Philippines, and what best way to first come here than to attend their wedding and then after party in Boracay.

Dress up was at Discovery Suites, Jesy Alto didn’t have a hard time prepping Denise up, at all. Wedding planning by Weddings by Victoria. Wedding ceremonies and reception at Fernwood Gardens, food provided by Via Mare and buffet station by Bizu. Video by Threelogy.

I think I haven’t had a bride before who cried as much as Faith did on her wedding day. Well, during the preps at Shangri-la Makati, it was all relaxed and fun. She even told me that she doesn’t want to cry and she won’t cry. But right before she entered the church, she started to, and all through out the ceremony and reception. JC on the other hand, was playing cool the whole day.

Faith was just stunning thanks to Jesy Alto and Raymond Ko. Everything went so well with Christine Ong-Te and her team, wedding feast by K. by Cunanan Catering. JJ & DENISE e-session

JJ & Denise just got here from the states and they’re getting married a week from now. They’ve been really busy and will still be very busy for the following days. We were supposed to shoot in the afternoon but something came up and they had to fix some papers with the church so we were delayed with our schedule that day. I was hoping we would still be able to catch some sun but the sun went down on us. So we had to do a night shoot!

I haven’t done this for a while now and I wasn’t exactly prepared to do so that day. It was a challenge but everything came out great! Thanks JJ and Denise for being such a game couple.

A DOG DAY AFTERNOON: JC & Faith engaged

It was a really hot hot afternoon today, and I just want to share a couple of photos from today’s shoot. JC and Faith are both doctors and they are really really busy people. That’s why we only got to shoot their engagement photos a week before their wedding. For their engagement session, they brought along these super cute little dogs. Bailey the chihuahua and Britney a teacup yorkie. Bailey here has some trust issues. He actually attacks strangers! Haha! Good thing I have a way with dogs and him and I became buddies today.

I have quite a history with this family. Karla has a twin sister, Tin. I did Tin and Marty’s wedding last January 2009. Marty and Tin knew about me from Chip and Amanda’s wedding which I shot with John Mateos Ong back in October 2007. Amanda here is the sister of Blue. And it’s time for Blue and Karla to get married!

Aside from seeing past clients, familiar faces and the gastronomic feast care of Lighthouse, what made this special for me is their entrance to the reception party. They rode a yacht coming in! How’s that for a grand entrance?

KING & KAT st. james the great, alabang country club

This probably might be one of the most relaxed weddings I’ve shot. From the hotel room of Kat, where Nicole, her sister in law’s IPod was playing an awesome playlist of relaxed songs from Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Gavin Degraw and the likes. Everyone was just lounging about. To the party at the Alabang Country Club where the guests are having a great time, enjoying the booze and dancing to the music. Stress and nervousness were words not mentioned, even thought of during that day.

Kat here happens to be a cousin of Amanda Tirol, THE Boracay Wedding Planner, from the Guidotti side and this is Amanda’s first wedding here in this side of the islands. And King is Gela Laurel-Stehmeier’s brother in law, which automatically makes her the their makeup artist for the wedding. Rajo Laurel of course did Kat’s gorgeous gown.

Kat has been telling me that she wouldn’t cry. I assumed she’s one of those brides who keeps on saying that but started bawling as soon as they start to walk down the aisle. She’s not that bride. Though she cried twice that day, while praying after the communion and while watching my onsite slideshow. It moved me that the photos gave her so much joy that she got emotional. Just really love my job!

BRYAN & BENG vintage wedding the lakeshore

I first met Beng during her trial makeup session with Jesy. I found out that she was a co-faculty of my mother at UST College of Nursing and that Beng and her fiance Bryan were my batch mates in UST. Beng was in Nursing and Bryan was taking Pharmacy. She has already booked David Hanson as their photographer but she wanted to me to shoot their wedding as well. It’s actually a nice experience working with other photographers since we don’t get to shoot alongside each other much. They got Bob Nicolas for their video. I got more excited when she told me that they’re having a themed wedding, 1940′s vintage.

It was a really hot afternoon that day but Beng looked gorgeous thanks to Jesy Alto and her gown by Kate Torralba. And I also really like Bryan’s suit. Ladies came in with hats and hairpieces and men with fedora hats. We were also asked to come in style, and so we did.

JOBERT & MIMI SHABBY CHIC WEDDING

You know those cute little costumes and suits that children wear for plays and events, that was actually one of Mimi’s businesses. She designs custom children’s costumes under the name of Bumblebee. That’s how I first knew her. Only when she was already getting married did I know that she was also designing custom bridal gowns with her team Sasha. So she designed her own gown and her able team made it for her. It was actually one of the most intricate gowns I’ve ever seen, and yes it was heavy. They also pioneered the bridal prep dress which she also wore during her dress up at the hotel.

During our first meeting, Jobert and Mimi raised to me a problem they say we might have during their wedding. They claim Jobert has one smile for all his photos and he always have a hard time smiling in front of the camera. I told them not to worry, I’ll take care of it. Come the wedding day, I saw what they were talking about. More proven during their AVP showing photos of them together, he has but one smile for every photo. But not to worry, he doesn’t always have to smile for the camera, and getting his natural laugh and smile was my game plan.

ANTHONY & CAMILLE santuario de san antonio, shangri-la makati

I was asked by friend photographer Dino Lara to shoot with him for Anthony and Camille’s wedding last March 5. This couple is so cool, not because Camille is a celebrity, but because they are real people.

Anthony’s dad was so cool. He was passing around Hennessy XO to Camille’s dad & mom, the bridesmaids and groomsmen, and yes, to us too. He made sure the bottle of Hennessy was down before everyone leaves for the church.

I enjoyed shooting their wedding. It was filled with lots of beautiful and fun people. Here’s Dino’s live feed post on their wedding. And here’s a few favorites from me.

When we had our engagement shoot a few months before their wedding, we were treated to a buffet of sumptuous food courtesy of Mark’s family, specially his dad. Mark’s side loves to cook, and Tina’s family loves to eat! Talk about compatibility!

Their wedding was so relaxed and fun! During the preps, we were so hyped and kinda forgot that there’s a wedding happening later on. When they were already putting on the veil, Tina suddenly burst into tears. That was the time it sank to her that she’s already getting married.
